Arran – Duero Discovery Signature Series Part 3

Duero Discovery is the third release in Arran's four-part Signature Series, the first of which appeared in autumn 2023. The name refers to the origin of its red wine casks, which came from the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. The whisky spent six years in first fill and second fill bourbon barrels, then a further six years in first fill Ribera del Duero red wine casks in Dunnage Warehouse number 4. The nose is bright, with caramelised fruit, hazelnut, salted caramel and grapefruit zest. The palate is full-bodied and complex, with oak, dark red fruit, creamy vanilla, ginger, sweet spice and aniseed. The finish is sweet, with hazelnut and ripe figs.
