Arran – Machrie Moor Peated 6th Release 2015 (46%)

Machrie Moor Peated is a single malt from the Isle of Arran distillery, and this is the sixth edition, released in 2015. It is peated to 20 ppm, which makes it a medium-smoky whisky. This edition is the last in the series to be bottled at 46%, and 15,000 bottles were filled in all. It is bottled without chill-filtration and with no colouring added. The name comes from Machrie Moor, a windswept peat moor on the west coast of Arran. Among its Bronze Age standing stones is one with a hole cut through it, where the legendary warrior Fingal is said to have tied his hound Bran.
