Arran – Quarter Cask (56.2%)

A cask strength single malt from Arran, distilled at Lochranza on the Isle of Arran and bottled at 56.2% ABV. The whisky spent seven years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels before moving for a further two years into smaller 125-litre quarter casks, also American oak. The smaller casks bring the whisky into closer contact with the wood. The nose has the citrus typical of Arran with sweet spices, cinnamon and vanilla. The palate is sweet and honeyed, with pineapple, vanilla and a little coconut, in a warm, spicy dram.
