Arran Quarter Cask The Bothy is an unpeated single malt from Lochranza Distillery on the Isle of Arran, made from 100% malted barley and sold in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit is matured in 125 litre quarter casks, roughly half the size of a standard barrel, and bottled at a natural cask strength of 56.2%. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
The nose is aromatic and fruity, with tropical fruit and coconut over warming spiced vanilla. The palate is rich, with tropical fruit, coconut and what the distillery calls gourmet apple, on vanilla sweetness and oak spice. The finish is long and warming, with spiced vanilla, orchard fruit and a lingering oak note.
