Arran Sherry Cask 'The Bodega' is a cask strength single malt from the Lochranza Distillery on the Isle of Arran, added to the Arran core range in 2019. It returns to the style of some of the distillery's earliest single malts, which were mostly matured in sherry casks.
The whisky is matured entirely in hand selected sherry hogsheads, chosen by Arran's master distiller from bodegas in Jerez, Spain. It is bottled at 55.8% (111.6 proof), non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers toffee, sweet spice, dark fruit, berry jam and chocolate. The palate is thick and chewy, with ripe figs, sweet cherries, raisins and candied ginger. The finish is long and warming, with dark chocolate, mandarin and pepper.
