Arran – Sauternes Cask Finish Single Malt (50%)

This is a single malt from Arran, finished in Sauternes casks. The whisky first spent about eight years maturing in American oak, then moved into Sauternes casks for a second period of maturation, which is watched closely to keep the sweetness of the wine casks in balance with the natural Arran character. It is bottled at 50% ABV. The nose brings spice and apricots. On the palate, fruit sweetness from the Sauternes casks sits alongside spice, and the finish carries sweetness and spice together.
