Arran – Signature Series Edition 2 Barrel Bonfire (50%)

Barrel Bonfire is the second of four Arran single malts in the Signature Series, chosen and signed by distillery manager Stewart Bowman. It is an 11 year old smoky malt, distilled in 2012 and bottled at 50% without chill-filtering or added colour. 14,882 bottles were filled. It spent its first five and a half years in bourbon casks, then was moved in 2018 to quarter casks from the Koval distillery in Chicago for a further five and a half. The nose is deep, dry smoke with caramel-coated hazelnuts, orange peel and vanilla. The palate is full, soft and oily, with cinnamon spice, citrus, vanilla and toasted oak. The finish is long and slightly sweet, with vanilla, peat and dry bonfire smoke.
