Arran The Amarone Cask Finish is a single malt from the Isle of Arran, part of the distillery's Cask Finishes series. It received an additional period of maturation in casks that previously held Amarone, the red wine of Italy's Valpolicella region.
It was bottled on 29 January 2014 at 50%, with natural colour and without chill filtration.
The nose offers ripe red fruit, cherries, plums and vanilla, with light spice and oak. The palate is full and soft, with red and dried fruit, honey, dark chocolate and gentle spice. The finish is warming and fruity, with wine character and soft wood.
