A 12 year old Auchroisk single malt from Speyside, distilled in 1978 and bottled by Cadenhead at 59.3% ABV.
The colour is straw. The nose opens with minerals, salt and oranges, then ginger tonic and freshly cut apples. With water it turns cleaner, more herbal and citrusy, with vanilla cream and a hint of fresh mint.
Neat, the palate is punchy and very lemony. Water keeps the lemon and adds tea, tangerines and cake, with more tannins, and the finish is very long.
