Auchroisk – 21 Year Old 1994 Hogshead (70cl, 55.2%)

This is a 21 year old Auchroisk single malt from Speyside, distilled in 1994 and matured in a hogshead. It is bottled by Dong Fang Ming at 55.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Auchroisk was built by Justerini & Brooks in 1974 and was launched as a blending malt. This bottling is paired with a Goyō Hashiguchi print of a woman applying powder. The nose is sherried, with figs, raspberries and dried plum. Dark chocolate and coffee run through the palate, which turns rich and milky. The finish is long, with dried fruit sweetness and woody tannins at the back.
