This is a 13 year old Aultmore, a Speyside single malt bottled by independent bottler Whisky Craft at 57.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured fully in a first-fill bourbon barrel, which brings orchard fruit and warming cereal notes.
The nose is sweet and layered, with glacé cherry and maraschino, toasted almonds, apple tart, bubblegum and maple syrup. The palate is structured, with smoky oak, brown sugar, sharp orange zest, ground white pepper and toasted wood. The finish is medium to long, with warming pepper and lingering oak spice.
