Backbone Prime is a blended bourbon from the Backbone Bourbon Company, made by combining bourbons of different ages. They are blended at a high proof to give a consistent flavour. The name pays tribute to batch 1 of Backbone Uncut, the company's first release of barrel-strength bourbon. That batch was rich and full, with less barrel influence. The strength of Prime is a nod to the extra flavour found in higher proof bottlings. It was created for the serious bourbon drinker, and is also intended to appeal to newcomers to American craft spirits.
