Balblair – 15 Year Old Highland Single Malt (70cl)

Balblair 15 Year Old is a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle. The distillery stands in the Northern Highlands, near the Dornoch Firth. The whisky is matured twice: first in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in first-fill Spanish oak butts. The American oak brings vanilla and caramel, and the Spanish oak adds dried fruit and spice. The nose has baked apples, oranges, toffee, vanilla pod and warm ginger. The palate shows dark chocolate, dried apricots, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is lingering, with citrus zest and gentle oak spice.
