This is a 30 year old Balblair from the Highlands, distilled in 1993 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail as a Connoisseurs single cask. It is bottled at 54.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured in a single first fill sherry puncheon, number 1963, and this bottle is one of 481 filled from that cask. The nose offers dark chocolate, sun-dried raisins and warm cinnamon, with roasted almonds and orange zest. The palate is smooth, with rich sherry sweetness, ripe figs, toasted hazelnuts and a touch of clove, and vanilla and oak underneath. The finish is long and warm, with gentle spice and a little smoky oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
