Ballantine's 17 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky, combining malt and grain whiskies from across Scotland. It was first blended in the 1930s and stays within the Ballantine's family style.
The colour is a clear, golden amber, the body is full and creamy, and the character is described as creamy, harmonious and oak-sweet.
The nose is deep and balanced, with sweet vanilla, oak and a sense of smoke. On the palate, honey sweetness and creamy vanilla come with oak and spicy liquorice. The finish is long, sweet and smooth, with a hint of spice.
