Ballantine's 21 Year Old (70cl)

Ballantine's 21 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky that sits at the top of the Ballantine's range, alongside the 30 year old. A high proportion of the whiskies in the blend were matured in European oak sherry casks, which gives a deeper, spicier and more honeyed character. The blend is built around the malts of Miltonduff and Glenburgie. The nose is honey, ripe pear and floral notes, with a touch of aromatic smoke. On the palate it is smooth and creamy, with heather honey, liquorice, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long and mellow, leaving dried fruit and soft oak.
