Ballantine's 21 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is a spiced, rich style, and that character comes from the high proportion of whiskies in the blend that were matured in European oak casks.
The nose is subtle, with stone fruit, nut oils, marmalade and a gentle trace of wood smoke. On the palate it is balanced and soft, with barley, honey and Seville marmalade. The finish is gentle but stays with you for a good while.
