Refill sherry hogshead
This is a 14 year old Ballechin from a single refill sherry hogshead, distilled in 2005 at Edradour and bottled at 55% as Edition No.5 of the Whisky Sponge series from Decadent Drinks. Ballechin is the name Edradour revived for a heavily peated malt, taken from a Perthshire farm distillery that operated from 1810 to 1927. The nose offers pipe tobacco, leather, menthol and varnish, with damp warehouses, soot, chocolate and pepper. On the palate, dark soot and pure chocolate meet cherries in spirit, brambles, chilli and walnuts, with tobacco leaf and a little oak char. The finish is long, with pepper, liquorice and bitter chocolate.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
