Balmenach – 12 Year Old Single Cask Strength (70cl, 54.8%)

A 12 year old Balmenach from Speyside, matured in a bourbon hogshead and then given a finishing period in a Sauternes cask. It is bottled at 54.8% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The Sauternes finish sits alongside notes of blackcurrant, mango and nuts. Typical tasting notes give blackcurrant, walnut and bergamot tea on the nose, then caramelised pear, mango syrup and ginger on the palate. The finish is long, with nuts and a background of honey sweetness.
