Bardstown Bourbon Co. Discovery Series No. 13 is a cask strength Kentucky straight bourbon at 55.4% (110.8 proof), in a 750ml bottle. It is a limited release.
The whiskey blends four Kentucky bourbons: 45% nine years old, 22% nine years old, 20% fifteen years old and 13% eight years old, each with its own mash bill. The blend was double-barrelled in Hungarian and American oak.
The flavours centre on caramel, vanilla and dry fruit, layered with baking spice, campfire ash, clove, cinnamon and toffee. The finish brings mocha, chicory and a little pipe tobacco.
