Baricci Rosso di Montalcino DOC shows a clear, bright red colour typical of Sangiovese. The nose brings fresh cherry, small red fruits, light floral notes, sweet spice and a hint of Mediterranean stone. The palate is frank and immediate, with lively acidity supporting a medium body and fine tannins, balanced and slender without lacking presence. It drinks well now but has the substance to gain harmony after a few years in bottle. It pairs with cured meats, traditional first courses, roast white meats and medium-aged cheeses, best served around 16-18 C; opening an hour ahead or decanting softens the tannins.
