A Brunello di Montalcino Riserva from Baricci with a measured and complex personality, faithful to the character of the denomination. Aromas of mature red fruit intertwine with earthy notes, touches of sweet spice and a slight balsamic hint that adds depth. In the mouth the wine shows structure and tension: the body is full, the tannins solid but fine, the acidity supports the pace and leads to a pleasantly sapid persistence. The sip is coherent, with fruity returns and a hint of tobacco accompanying the finish. It is excellent with braised meats, game roasts and aged cheeses, and may benefit from a light decanting before service.
