Barrell Batch 004 Cask Strength Rye Whiskey (75cl, 57.9%)

Barrell Batch 004 is a cask strength rye whiskey in a 750ml bottle, bottled in Kentucky at 57.85% ABV (115.7 proof). The derived mash bill is 89% rye, 7% corn and 4% malted barley. It is a blend of rye from Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky and Canada. Indiana barrels of 5, 6 and 10 years bring brown sugar, a touch of smoke, fruit and spice, while 14 year old Canadian barrels add dry herbal notes. The nose has blackberry, dried apricot and Concord grape, with blonde tobacco, lemon verbena and peppermint. The palate brings grape soda, maple syrup, burnt marshmallow, espresso and black licorice, with leather and clove. The finish moves from armagnac and rosewater to mole poblano, black pepper, juniper and thyme.
