Barrell Bourbon Batch 031 (55.6%)

This is a cask strength blend of straight bourbon whiskeys from Barrell Craft Spirits, bottled at 111.2 proof. The barrels were distilled and aged in Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana and range from 6 to 16 years old. The blend was built around the sweetness of a group of 99% corn bourbon barrels and a group of wheated bourbon barrels. Barrels of 15 and 16 years add gentle nuttiness and oak, while 10 year old barrels bring milk chocolate and tropical fruit. The colour is deep gold. The nose pairs dry oak and pine needles with browned butter and spiced apple pie. The palate brings juicy citrus, pomegranate and strawberry rhubarb pie, and the finish has smoked paprika, black pepper and spearmint.
