Barrell Bourbon New Year 2020 is a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys from Barrell Craft Spirits, which sources finished barrels from established distilleries rather than distilling. New Year is its annual limited edition, with each year blended separately; this is the 2020 release, individually numbered. It is bottled at cask strength, 54.7% (109.4 proof), without dilution or chill filtration. Caramel and brown sugar sit over toasted oak on the nose, with dark fruit, baking spice and a nutty depth. The palate is full bodied, with caramel, dried fruit and vanilla against dry oak and black pepper, and the finish is long and warming, ending on tannic oak, spice and lingering sweetness.
