Barrell Craft Spirits Foundation Double Barrel is a 5 year old straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof). It is a blend of seven components from Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Maryland, with a derived mash bill of 73% corn, 23% rye and 4% malted barley.
Second maturation in new American oak casks brings out dark chocolate, leather, dried fruit and toasted marshmallow, while the rye gives the blend its richness.
The nose offers caramel, milk chocolate, baked apple and pumpkin spice. On the palate, orange sponge cake, roasted coffee and caramel lead to cherry, vanilla and toasted marshmallow. The finish is smooth and lingering, with vanilla, orange, white pepper and cinnamon.
