Barrell Vantage is a cask strength blend of straight bourbons, bottled at 57.22% ABV (114.44 proof) in a 75cl bottle.
Each component is finished separately in a different virgin oak: Mizunara, French and toasted American. The finished whiskeys are then blended together, with the aim of showing the different sides of oak.
The nose brings crème brûlée, coconut oil and chocolate pudding, with tarragon, nutmeg, warm cola, incense and grilled pineapple. The palate is sweet and oily, with a pronounced espresso note and maple syrup sweetness. The finish shows green grapes and red plums, then za'atar, crystallised ginger and Szechuan peppercorns.
