Barton 1792 Single Barrel is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 49.3% ABV in a 750ml bottle, with each bottle drawn from a single barrel. Master Distiller Ken Pierce selects the barrels from the warehouses of Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown.
It is a high-rye bourbon aged for at least four years in new charred American oak. It was the brand's 2016 limited edition, the third after the Sweet Wheat and Port Finish bottlings.
Tasting notes mention toffee, lemon zest, ginger and crisp apple on the nose. The palate is rich and spicy, with caramel, roasted almonds, fresh-cut wood and rye spice, and the finish is long with a bit of bite.
