Basil Hayden Dark Rye Kentucky Blended Whiskey (75cl, 40%)

Basil Hayden Dark Rye is a Kentucky blended whiskey made from three components: Kentucky rye, Canadian rye from the Alberta Distillery, and California Port wine used for the finish. It is bottled at 40% ABV. The Kentucky rye supplies spice, oak, dried fruit and molasses, while the Canadian rye adds a more viscous mouthfeel and deeper dried fruit. The Port brings juicy ripe fruit and gives the whiskey its ruby colour. The nose shows ripe fruit and dried fig with rye spice and oak. The palate is firm with spice and molasses, with viscous dried fruit lifted by the Port, and the finish is fruit-forward, with ripe fruit and spice lingering.
