Basil Hayden Toast Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 40%)

Basil Hayden Toast is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 80 proof in a 75cl format of 750 ml. It uses a new mashbill in which brown rice replaces the traditional rye grain. The bourbon then has a secondary maturation in a barrel that has been toasted and then flash-charred. The brown rice is said to add a hint of sweetness and slightly less spice, while the second barrel adds depth of flavour. The nose brings toasted oak with dried fruit and caramelised sugar. On the palate there is toasted wood and vanilla with a light mouthfeel, and the finish is sweet caramel.
