This is a French single malt whisky from Bastille, distilled twice in Charente copper gooseneck pot stills at Maison Daucourt in Cognac country. It is made from 100% French malted barley with a 120-year-old cultured yeast strain, under master distiller Jean-Marc Daucourt, and bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle.
It is aged in Limousin oak that previously held Sauternes, Red Burgundy and Sherry, a triple-cask approach.
The whisky is deep amber in colour. The palate is soft, rich and complex, with fruit, sweet spices and leather, ending in a slightly peaty finish.
