Belle Meade Bourbon Malmsey Madeira Cask Finish (75cl, 45.2%)

Belle Meade Bourbon Malmsey Madeira Cask Finish is a high rye bourbon from Nelson's Green Brier Distillery, the third release in its Special Cask Finish Series. It blends bourbons of roughly six and nine years old, made from 64% corn, 30% rye and 6% malted barley, and finishes them in casks that once held Malmsey Madeira. It is bottled at 45.2% (90.4 proof) in a 750ml bottle, without chill filtering. This is batch 06.02, and the bourbon won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The nose is floral, with vanilla and hints of toffee. The palate brings dark wildflower honey, ripe persimmon, dried black cherry and baking spice, and the finish carries a touch of malt and chocolate.
