Ben Nevis – 10 Year Old

This is an older bottling of Ben Nevis 10 Year Old, a Highland single malt. The bottle has slightly broad shoulders and a cream label with red accents and a picture of the mountain landscape. The whisky is a deep golden colour. The nose is malty, with wet stone, ripe apple and light smoke, and leather, nutmeg and raisins underneath. On the palate it is oily and robust, with malt bread, dark chocolate, orange peel and light peat smoke, along with a touch of saltiness and peppery spice. The finish is long and dry, with toasted oak, walnuts and a hint of smoke.
