An 11 year old Highland single malt from Ben Nevis, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2024 at 57.5% ABV by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 78.83, named Heathery & Leathery. The cask gave 266 bottles.
The whisky spent eight years in an ex-bourbon hogshead before moving into a first fill heavy toast, medium char hogshead.
The tasting notes describe a stables and tack room of groomed horses and leather saddles on the nose. The palate offers gingerbread chai biscotti dipped in espresso, with heather honey, treacle and fudge once water is added, and a hint of salt in the finish.
