Ben Nevis – 2008 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 1 (70cl, 62.4%)

This is a Ben Nevis single malt distilled in 2008 and bottled after ten years in cask, as Batch 1. It is bottled at a cask strength of 62.4% in a 70cl bottle. The nose is spicy, with leather, milk chocolate, hazelnuts and yellow raisins, alongside savoury notes of mushroom and salty minerals. The palate turns creamy after the first heat, with warming spice, fudge, leather, nuts, pine bud syrup, raisins and minerals. The finish is long, savoury and sweet, with chocolate, raisins, hazelnuts and chestnuts, plus a fresh layer of champagne, mint, throat lozenges and peach.
