This Ben Nevis 25 Year Old was distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2021 by the independent bottler McCallum for its Auld Alliance series. It comes from a single rum cask and is bottled at 46.2% in a 70cl bottle.
It was bottled at natural strength, without chill filtration or added colouring. Ben Nevis is described as Scotland's highest distillery.
The nose has tropical fruit, brown sugar and vanilla, with honeyed malt, toasted oak and a maritime note. On the palate, exotic fruit, molasses and caramelised sugar sit alongside heather honey, baked apple and warm oak. The finish is long and warming, with dark chocolate, dried fruit, gentle spice and a hint of salinity.
