Benriach Malting Season Third Edition is a small batch single malt from Benriach Distillery in Speyside, one of the few distilleries still floor malting. The annual release honours hand-malted barley, and the distillery was founded in 1898.
It has a golden barley colour. The nose combines freshly harvested barley with orchard fruit, wild bergamot, pear and meadowsweet honey. The palate is smooth and creamy, with clementine zest, floral honey, apricot, malted almond and a trace of wild cherry.
Medium to full bodied, it finishes long with gentle barley spice, oak tannins and a touch of soft smoke.
