This is a single cask Benrinnes, distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2014 at 10 years old. It was released by Douglas Laing in its Provenance series, under the McGibbon's label, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. The whisky was matured in a single sherry butt. Sherry maturation in Speyside is said to bring out some of the lighter character of the spirit and to add spice. The nose is clean and fresh with fruit, along with spices including sugar and ginger. On the palate come demerara sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon. The finish runs medium to long, with lingering brown sugar and a mild spiciness.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
