Refill American oak hogshead
This Speyside single malt from Benrinnes was distilled in 1978 and aged for 44 years in a single refill American oak hogshead. It is bottled at 55% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and 160 bottles were produced. It is part of the first series of Gordon & MacPhail's Private Collection, personally selected by members of the Urquhart family, who have owned the company for four generations. The collection is made up of greatly aged single malts. The nose has baked apple, toasted almonds and citrus zest, with exotic fruit, soft honey and floral notes. On the palate come Seville orange, grapefruit, herbal touches, a hint of pineapple, milk chocolate and charred oak. The finish is full and long, with cocoa powder.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
