Benromach – 10 Year Old Speyside Single Malt (43%)

Benromach 10 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% ABV, made in the style of the traditional Speyside whiskies of the 1960s. It is matured in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks, then finished in Oloroso sherry casks, which gives a deep, dark golden colour. Since the distillery reopened in 1998, Gordon & MacPhail have set the peat level of the malt between 8 and 10 ppm, which adds a light smoke. The nose is sherry and fruit with nuts, chocolate, cinnamon and charred oak. Raspberry and blackberry join Oloroso sherry and creamy malt on the palate, ending in a little peat smoke.
