Benromach – 10 Years

Benromach 10 Year Old is a Speyside single malt, made by hand at the Benromach distillery. The spirit is distilled slowly from an old-fashioned variety of barley, with a small amount of peated malt in the mix. It matured in a combination of bourbon casks (80%) and sherry casks (20%), followed by a final year in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. The peated malt leaves a subtle hint of peat smoke alongside sweet and spicy layers. The nose is rich with sherry, green apple and malty biscuit, and the palate brings raspberries, blackberries and full sherry character. The finish is long, with dried fruit, chocolate and light smokiness.
