Benromach 10 Years Old is a single malt matured in a classic pairing of first-fill bourbon and sherry casks, and bottled at 43%. Dried fruit, fresh vanilla and smoky notes run through it.
The nose is dry, with barley, plenty of malt and oak, and dry pine. After a while, sweet spices, a hint of astringent plum from the sherry casks and maple syrup come through. The palate is lightly spiced and grassy, with malt, a little fruit and ground ginger. The finish is bittersweet, with ginger and dry sherry, becoming almost hoppy.
