This is a 10 year old Speyside single malt from Benromach, the distillery owned by Gordon and MacPhail. It is bottled at 43% ABV.
The whisky spent its first nine years in a mix of four parts bourbon casks to one part sherry casks, then a final year in sherry casks.
The nose is dry and malty with barley, oak and dry pine, then sweet spices, prune and maple fudge. The palate brings barley, a little fruit, grass and ground ginger. The finish is bittersweet, with ginger and dry sherry.
