Benromach – 12 Exclusively Sherry Cask Matured (46%)

This is a 12 year old single malt from Benromach, matured entirely in first-fill sherry casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring. Benromach fills its casks by hand at the Forres distillery and stores them in traditional dunnage warehouses. The nose offers raspberries and bright orange peel against the deep sweetness of fruit cake, with a little pepper and a hint of smoke. On the palate come fruity notes and dark chocolate, cracked pepper and gentle smoke over a rich sherry texture. The finish is lasting, with cocoa, dry spice and a trace of smoke.
