This is a 12 year old Speyside single malt from Benromach, matured only in first-fill sherry casks. It is bottled at 46% without chill-filtration or added colouring.
The casks give it a deep mahogany colour. Fruity, spicy and lightly smoky aromas run through it, and the smoke is kept subtle. Benromach was founded in 1898, and Gordon & MacPhail took it over in 1993.
The nose opens with lively raspberry and bright orange peel, alongside the sweetness of a traditional sherried fruit cake.
