A 12 year old Speyside single malt from Benromach, bottled by the distillery at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in first fill sherry casks and is natural in colour and non-chill-filtered.
The nose opens with spice, sweet cinnamon pastry and stewed raisins, moving to candied ginger, butterscotch, caramel and fresh citrus, with soft smoke and cocoa powder behind. The palate combines rich fruitcake and nuts with raspberries and oranges, then ground pepper, toasted oak, gentle smoke and melted chocolate. The finish is medium in length, smooth and spicy, with blackcurrant, a touch of menthol and a last note of smoke.
