A 15-year-old Speyside single malt from Benromach, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. This is the earlier bottle design and packaging. It was named Whisky of the Year in 2020.
The house style shows notes of banana and forest mushrooms with light smoke and gentle vanilla from the cask.
The nose is warm, with aged sherry, vanilla, orange, spicy ginger, sweet honey and a faint bonfire. The palate suggests spice cake with dried fruit, stewed plums, red apple skins and kiwi, with toasted oak. The finish brings milk chocolate and lightly charred oak.
