Benromach – 15 Years (70cl, 43%)

This is a 15 year old single malt from Benromach, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It belongs to the distillery's core range and the version described here dates from a 2015 release. The whisky was matured in a selection of bourbon and sherry casks, which gives a flavour that is intense yet balanced. In the glass it is typically described as spicy, with ginger, mint and a little cinnamon, alongside juicy plums and clementine. A hint of smoky, charred oak sits behind the fruit.
