Benromach – 2012 Cask Strength Batch 03 (70cl, 59.6%)

This is Batch 03 of Benromach Cask Strength, a Speyside single malt distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2022 at 59.6%. It comes in a 70cl bottle and is of natural colour and non-chill-filtered. The batch was vatted from 21 casks, all first fill, holding sherry and bourbon matured whisky. The nose shows smoke, sherry, spice, fruit and chocolate. The palate balances fruitiness with smoky accents, pepper, orange and toffee, and the finish ends on vanilla and chocolate.
