This is a nine year old Speyside single malt from Benromach, distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2023 as Cask Strength Batch 1. It is bottled at 59.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill-filtration.
It was matured in first-fill bourbon and first-fill sherry casks. The combination brings together vanilla, dark fruit, spice, oak and a fine note of smoke.
The nose offers vanilla, fruitcake, dark chocolate, citrus, spice and lightly charred oak. The palate has stewed fruit, spice and citrus, with toasted oak and subtle smoke. The finish is long and full, with raisins, oak spice and gentle smoke.
